I give praise and thanksgiving to God for all His faithful servants whom He has placed in my life. I thank God for His abundant grace and the opportunity to write to you regarding our Taiwan missions trip.
When Auntie Judy first told me about the Taiwan short term missions trip, I was reluctant to commit. However, through her patient reminders to pray about the trip and an impromptu conversation with one of my work mentors about what it means to put God first, God moved me to go on this missions trip. This trip is an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and fulfill the Great Commission.
Although the mission field starts at home, this will be a great opportunity to reach out to children and their families who may not get a chance to hear the gospel otherwise. Throughout my training, I have been reminded that each interaction we have may be someone’s last chance to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.
Uncle Sam, Auntie Judy, Ashley, Patrick, and I will serve in Hualien Harbor Presbyterian Church (a local church in Hualien Taiwan) each morning and then join Uncle Ronald, Auntie Grace, Sabrina, Micki, and Jaceylin at MCH Children Outreach in Hualien Taiwan. We will be doing VBS activities including teaching the children how to play the recorder and sing praises, doing crafts, doing Bible Drill, memorizing Bible verses, and playing games to connect with the children.
Prayer Requests
- For making disciples of all nations not through our own work but through our faith in Christ to lead us.
- For diligent preparation to do God’s work with a joyful, faithful heart.
- For resilience and strength through God, Jesus, and the Bible.
- For physical and spiritual safety.
- For spiritual growth for our team and salvation for the children we will be serving.
